El Teatro De La Tierra

Follow Message Edit

Teatro de la Tierra is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to the preservation and advancement of art and culture. Specifically we offer community arts education programming in the low income community of Fresno. Led by NEA National Heritage Fellow Agustín Lira and Artist/Instructor Patricia Wells, we offer 2 long-term projects: Generaciones Music Project that teaches children, teens, adults, and seniors how to play guitar or ukulele and Teatro Inmigrante teaches theater to intergenerational students. Original productions for the stage, for radio, and now videos, are performed for the community by the participants and their instructors. We are building an appreciation for Chicano Mexican Latino arts and culture, and we are fostering the love of the arts in new talents and voices.
