Today we gathered with our relatives at Steele Indian School Park for our Memorial Day Remembrance event to honor and acknowledge the sacrifices of our Indigenous soldiers, their families, and tribal nations. We recognized their bravery and unique contributions in serving their communities and country despite historical injustices and discrimination. Our warriors have been present in every war, serving with distinction in every regiment to protect our lands. Thank you to our speakers who came out to share their experiences and to the Department of Veteran Affairs for standing with us in recognition and respect.
