TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE FOR ACTIVE AND RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS OF THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND DEPENDENTS IN TIMES OF DISTRESS, DISABILITY, ILLNESS, CRISIS AND OR DEATH; TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO ASSIST THEM IN PURSUING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES; TO MAKE CHARITABLE DONATIONS ON THEIR BEHALF; TO ASSIST THEM IN MEETING THEIR MEDICAL AND HEALTH NEEDS DURING TIMES OF PERSONAL CRISIS; AND SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS GOAL AS ALLOWED BY LAW.
