Mothers of Murdered Offspring (MOM-O) is a victim’s rights organization. Made up of a network of families that have lost a loved one to murder. MOM-O provides help and support to families after the loss of a loved one due to murder. We assist with funeral arrangements, candlelight vigils, balloon-releases, keepsakes and other remembrances at the onset. Then we assist with the grieving and coping process with support group meetings, family fellowship events and memorial celebrations. MOM-O was started after co-founder Dee Sumpter’s daughter was brutally murdered. On February 19, 1993, Shawna Hawk (Dee’s daughter) opened her door to whom she thought was a friend.
