Part 1 from our Home Repair Team from last Wednesday. Thanks to Larry Verdal from the Moscow Central Lions Club for the report. Look for Part 2 tomorrow morning for another post! "Wednesday, May 28 found us with two projects, a smaller crew and an unseasonably warm day. There are several photos to help tell the stories, so I’m sending them in two parts. To start the day off, Brendan got the truck full of lumber at Moscow Building Supply. We loaded the tools and headed to the West Side Food Bank to work on their Planter Project. We unloaded all the lumber and began cutting lumber for the combined benches and storage units. The end goal is to have fresh vegetables available, on site. The photos show various stages of work, with Lion Chris performing quality control on a bench, at the end of the session. Lots of prep work has been done, and the next session will involve more assembly of the working units, and minimal prep work. Brendan, Brent, Michael, Adrian and Carolyn (Palouse Habitat) were joined by Chris, Jim and Larry (Moscow Central Lions Club) We were back at the Warehouse about 2:30pm in various stages of overheating. A good reminder for all of us as summer approaches: Sun Screen, Water, Cool Clothing, Hats, Water, Bandanas, Lynne’s cold packs,, Etc. A few more volunteers would have allowed us to alternate some shade and water breaks.
