As an impact litigation organization dedicated to restructuring government our free legal services and advocacy efforts have been sorely needed during the pandemic and protests against police violence. As more and more studies confirm the numerous accounts of Black people in our region who have experienced racism during encounters with local police our work is critical in passing the PrOTECT Preventing Overpolicing Through Equitable Community Treatment Ordinance.
