The 50th Chicano Moratorium Committee is a group dedicated to educating people about the Chicano Moratorium of August 29, 1970. The committee is comprised of elders/youth vounteers estaglished to commemorate 50 years plus of educating and supporting communities related to social information on war, racism, and education, culminating in a mass celebration in August, incolving 10k+ participants in East L.A., to organize forums, car & art shows, mini concerts, educational seminars, plays, oral interviews, research, and documentary data to develop historical histories of the Chicano movement fro the 1960's to date. The long term goals are to produce an educational video of the actions/activities related to 50 years of social advocacy, establishing a traditional day of action each August and sharing the information with schools & universities, and supporting an effort for a future wall of recognition to past leaders, activist, and pathfinders of the movement in Los Angeles, California.

We are the 50th Chicano Moratorium Committee a group dedicated to educating people about the Chicano Moratorium of August 29 1970 and the conditions and events that led up to it known as the Chicano Civil Rights Movement. We continue to fight for peace liberation and education about this iconic event with the understanding that we will move beyond the limitations of our past. We welcome new members who agree to respect one another and adhere to our Points of Unity.
