Friends of the James River Valley Library System
The Friends of the James River Valley Library System support the goals and objectives of the JRVLS. We Advocate, Share, & Raise Funds The Mission of the Friends is to increase the use of the library through programming and public awareness activities, to advocate for strong public funding with city and county officials and develop private funding campaigns. The Friends group sets their goals that are consistent with the needs of the library. It is the responsibility Friends board to work closely with the library director and library board to stay informed of the library's policies and programs. Library Board representatives often attend Friends Board Meetings to share ideas. Friends Board representatives often attend Library Board meetings for the same reason. Library Board and staff are encouraged to share their ideas on advocacy and fund raising with the Friends Board.
