Tropic Editions
Tropic Editions is a nonprofit publishing imprint established in 2018. Our mission is to promote the advancement and appreciation of artists books imbued with a sense of place, and to educate the public on arts and culture of Hawaii and their connections globally, through a publishing program. We want to draw Hawaii into an existing international discourse on tropicality, post-colonialism, and creative production in the tropics. We create publication projects that are conceived of as artworks in their own right. We have published 15+ projects, worked with more than 80 contributors locally and internationally, and represented Hawaii in art book fairs in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and abroad in Italy and the Philippines.
