Gainesville Giving Garden in
The Giving Garden is committed to building food sovereignty in Alachua County by providing horticultural education for underserved groups and the wider community, and by donating our produce to enable regional fresh food access. The Gainesville Giving Garden strives to enable equitable access to quality food and the benefits that come with healthy eating. We grow, harvest and distribute fresh food and we provide community health education to underserved community members. The Giving Garden serves as an education and workforce development hub for marginalized groups to learn and build skills in horticulture and within our local food ecosystem. Quality food shouldn’t be exclusive to a specific income bracket. We believe that eating local, choosing organic, and supporting sustainable is key to a better world; one in which people and the environment are healthy, happy, and connected. Access to organic, fresh produce should be a right, not a privilege.
