Oak Alley Foundation: A National Historic Landmark

Oak Alley Plantation is a historic site located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The Foundation owns and operates the mansion and the surrounding 28 historic acres. Visitors explore its over 200 years of history. Oak Alley Foundation's mission is to preserve a piece of the Louisiana Plantation culture of the 19th century. Programs and exhibits are designed to teach visitors from all over the world about life during this period. There is an emphasis on a portrayal of conditions under which slaves lived and worked.
