Also providing mother/family support services to residents of the DMV MOMCares provides postpartum doula support to Black women with a NICU experience. MOMCares is involved in advocacy around black maternal& infant health. MOMCARES SERVES UNDER-SUPPORTED MOTHERS WITH NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU) EXPERIENCES IN BALTIMORE CITY BY PROVIDING PRENATAL AND POSTPARTUM DOULA CARE INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION, ADVOCACY, SELF-CARE OPPORTUNITIES, AND NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO MOTHERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

MOMCares Dear Community During the past few months Founding Executive Director Ana Rodney and the MOMCares Board of Directors have been meeting about the continuing role of our organization in the birth justice movement in addressing the Black Maternal Health Crisis. We feel strongly MOMCares has proven successful in raising awareness about the importance of Doulas in improving maternal and infant health outcomes identifying best practices promoting good public policy and sparking others to join in the movement. Although we have been proud to lead in this groundbreaking work for the last several years it is best for the organization and its founder to cease operations effective November 1 2024. This decision did not come easily or lightly.
