New Haven has been in operation since 1967 and has served over 15,000 children with a wide range of special needs.New Haven is committed to working with children who have been significantly affected by physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse or family distress. We accomplish our mission of ""Caring…Equipping…and Restoring Hope"" by believing in each youth's ability to hope and plan for a better future.New Haven is committed to reducing the likelihood of future homelessness of our youth that have been so heavily associated with poverty, a lack of education, poor job skills training, low wages, and histories of abuse. New Haven believes that career technical education and apprenticeship programs tailored to meet the needs of at-risk youth are essential in addressing the ever increasing issue of homelessness and criminal activity among at-risk youth. Recognizing that job skills and actual job experience are the best predictors of future success in life, New Haven offers training in culinary arts, the construction trades and entrepreneurial training in a student operated furniture and pen manufacturing business. Our experience has shown us that vocational training not only provides needed skills, it is also one of the most effective tools for remediating the effects of emotional trauma, abuse and neglect in young males.
