May 17: Celebration of Smoke at Boggy Draw. Come learn about the role of fire in healthy forests. May 17: Wildflower Walk at Sand Canyon in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM with botanist Al Schneider. May 17: Volunteer Summit for Public Lands at the Durango Nordic Center from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Connect with local groups and learn how to get involved in public lands stewardship. May 18: Sunday Stroll focused on wildflower beauty at the Nature Center. May 20: Volunteer Ambassador Training for Ice Lake. Help visitors enjoy this special place responsibly. May 22: Geology Hike in Vallecito Valley. Explore ancient rock formations with geologist Dave Bouquet.
