The Art Room in the Month of June: Good Things Come in Small Packages: The Research Annex holds over 700 pieces of art. Many are large paintings and photographs of people and places related to the Kern River Valley. But we also have many small gems that can be overlooked if you are not careful. This month, the Society is exhibiting twenty small but beautiful pieces of art from fourteen known artists. Most of these artworks were collected by Ardis and Gayle Walker over the years and were bequeathed to the Kern River Valley Historical Society upon their death. There is no unifying theme to the art this month other than that they prove the saying, "Good Things Come in Small Packages." Be sure to visit anytime during the month of June to view this beautiful collection. If you are in Kernville on Tuesday or Thursday, you can stop by the Research Annex as well to see what else we have on display. (fb)
