Fort Ross, California

Fort Ross Historic State Park/Fort Ross Conservancy Connects people with the history and beauty of Fort Ross & Salt Point State Parks Fort Ross Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) and California State Park cooperating association, connects people to the history and beauty of Fort Ross and Salt Point State Parks. We preserve and promote the deep and complex legacies of the Kashia Pomo, Alaska Native, Russian, and early California Ranch era people who lived on these lands, and we share lessons learned throughout this long arc of history. Each year we bring 4,000 students to experience our place-based education, steward 9,400 acres of habitat from intertidal habitat to redwood groves, preserve 15 historic buildings and cultural features, staff two visitor centers, research and write books, pamphlets and interpretive panels, and engage over 300,000 visitors.
