Danielle Georgiou Dance Group will premiere "Rufus Turpentine" during Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth's eighteenth Modern Dance Festival at The Modern, Celebrating the Alex DaCorte The Whale exhibition. Responding to Alex De Corte's video piece "ROY G BIV," this new duet performed by Danielle Georgiou and Justin Locklear personifies the relationship between symbolism and definition. A highly theatrical character, Rufus Turpentine is split into two forms, each battling for identity while shocked at the other's existence.

Former CD/FW company member Alyson Cartagena returns to Fort Worth to premiere "Twisted Layers" as part of the 18th Modern Dance Festival at The Modern celebrating the Alex Da Corte The Whale exhibition. Alyson will be performing at both of the shows on Saturday, July 19, at 12 noon and 3 pm in the Museum Auditorium of the The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Admission is FREE.
