Today, Las Misiones joins the city of San Antonio in celebrating the incredible nearly five decade career of Deborah Knapp - KENS 5 as she signs off for the last time. Beyond the anchor desk, Deborah has been a champion of the historic San Antonio Mission Churches. We are deeply grateful for her steadfast support of Las Misiones. For more than a decade she served on the Las Misiones Board of Directors. Her role in the Missions capital campaign helped raise $15 million, ensuring that our 18th-century UNESCO World Heritage churches remain places of worship, history, and hope for generations to come. On October 14th we will honor Deborah at our 2025 Rose Window Gala and celebrate her service not only to the missions but to the community and the numerous civic and charitable organizations she has assisted. Thank you, Deborah, for your unwavering support, and for being a beacon of excellence in our community. As you move into your well-earned retirement, we offer our profound gratitude and prayers. May the road ahead be filled with family, joy, and the same grace you have so generously shared with us. (fb)

This Spring, you may have seen Mission Concepción getting extra special attention! Thank you, Scott Huddleston at San Antonio Express-News, for highlighting this important restoration work, and the vital work of Las Misiones. Many don’t know, but Las Misiones is the only non-profit that supports the restoration and maintenance of the Mission Churches. Other partner organizations like the National Parks and Mission Heritage Partners fund the upkeep of the Mission grounds and secular structures.
