Adoptees with Guatemalan Roots GET INVOLVED TAKE AN ACTION MAKE A DONATION CONNECT LEARN Children Adopted from Guatemala Countries We Were Adopted To We Are A World WIde Organization Around 50000 children were adopted from Guatemala to the United States Europe Israel New Zealand Canada and Australia before international adoption from Guatemala was closed in 2008. Services for Adoptees The Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides two services for Guatemalan adoptees. The first is a free birth family search through the National Council of Adoptions and the second is access to our online records at RENAP. Our organization successfully lobbied the Guatemala government for these services and met with President Alejandro Giammattei in January 2021 to request Presidential approval for this request.
