Austin Ukulele Society (AUS) Austin Ukulele Society AUS March 13 2025 Killing MeSoftly. On a balmy March evening which happened to be the 5th year anniversary of the pandemic shut down the Austin Ukulele Society was thrilled to host its best attended inperson meeting since just before that fateful day. With 165 ukulele enthusiasts from all over the Austin area including some visitors from NC NY MN and Ontario we really felt the wonderful community spirit and strength of the ukulele world. Thank you for being there.

Last Thursday we were delighted to host a fantastic online group of 170+ ukulele players from near and far: Canada, Germany, Brazil, the Philippines, New Zealand, and many states all across the U. S. We played our warm-up and wrap-up songs, and Bob taught a tutorial on our Featured Song, John Denver's classic, "Take Me Home, Country Roads.

At our May 8 meeting we had a blast learning to strum, pick, and sing Roy Orison's "You Got It. " Released just a month after his untimely passing in 1988, it was an instant hit, definitely the best kind of ear worm, and we were singing and strumming in no time. Huge thanks to all who came out and a big howdy to our many first-timers and out-of-town guests.
