We provide life-saving treatment to all Heartworm Positive dogs adopted from the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center in Rockwall, TX. Prior to 2010 and Rockwall PAWS all heartworm positive dogs were euthanized. This allows dogs to be adopted with the owner not having to assume the huge expense of treatment, or the dog going without treatment. We strive to educate dog and cat owners about Heartworm Disease and impress upon owners the easy and inexpensive prevention of heartworm disease (versus the often difficult and expensive treatment).** Cats should be on prevention because there is no available treatment at this time.
