The Oxford Initiative for Global Ethics and Human Rights is committed to teaching for the greater good and building community across the disciplines of law, political science, international politics, gender, anthropology, diplomacy, development, religion, the arts and public policy to critically deliberate on global ethics, human rights and finding hope in challenging times. We are especially committed to exploring understandings of war and peace through the arts and humanities, including poets and artists from conflict zones, and the participation of women in war and peace.

Our two flagship projects are theGlobal Womens Narratives Project which has university and nonprofit partnerships around the world and theOxford Workshops short courses held at the University of Oxford on current issues across war and peace traumasensitivity women in politics religion health human security and conflict journalism including experiential field components. War Peace Series AUG 2025MAR 2026 Special Focus on Global Mental Health Conflict Journalism and TraumaSensitive Interview Training for Fieldwork Our short courses draw on Oxford faculty from across disciplines and colleges international faculty and dedicated practitioners and policymakers.
