Empowering & connecting young activists & policymakers from Africa, Middle East, the US & beyond in order to promote human rights for all. AMEL empowers young changemakers from the Middle East & Africa (MEA) in order to build resilient, inclusive societies free from discrimination, persecution and violent coercion, and advocates for policies in support of these goals. A central focus of AMEL's work is to provide training, tools and networks to young MEA changemakers & peers in the Global North so that they can better lead the way to dignity and human rights for all human beings. A second, intersecting pillar of AMEL’s work is to forge connections around, and advocate for, shared human rights and democratic values. In order to catalyze better human and foreign relations based on these values, AMEL engages in public advocacy campaigns, issue education in the halls of power and and the building of bridges across differences.
