A Richmond Metro Area nonprofit with a mission to create and promote enriching learning and social experiences for adults with complex disabilities. Nest Academy RVA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating social and learning opportunities for teens and young adults with complex physical and intellectual disabilities. Our target population for academic year programs includes high school graduates who are typically non-verbal, in wheelchairs and who require 1:1 assistance & adaptive environments to engage in the community. Nest’s Summer Passport program serves teens as young as 15 years old. The only organization of its kind in central Virginia, Nest is filling an unmet need in Richmond, providing a specialized learning environment and inspired programs to foster an inclusive community and the continued emotional, social and educational growth of each participant.
