Point Loma Optimist Club Welcome to the Point Loma Optimist Club The Point Loma Optimist Club has been a pillar of the Point Loma Ocean Beach Loma Portal and Midway District communities for over 70 years. Since 1954 we have been dedicated to supporting the youth of our community by providing annual support to schools and organizations that promote excellence in athletics music and academics. Additionally we have been a steadfast supporter of the Ryan Family YMCA formerly known as the Peninsula YMCA since its inception. Our contributions have helped improve the lives of countless young people in our community.

🔱 Captain Will Wiley, Commander of Submarine Squadron 11, recently spoke at the Point Loma Optimist Club. He shared insights into leading one of the Navy’s key undersea warfare units based at Naval Base Point Loma, which includes fast-attack submarines, a dry dock, and the Undersea Rescue Command. A fascinating look into life beneath the surface and the role San Diego plays in national defense.
