Our mission is to create more diversity, inclusion, and ultimately systemic change in the arts. Dance In Color’s mission is to create lasting systemic change in the performing arts. Not only by bolstering young dance students of color, but also by making sure young artists who are striving for professional dance careers receive the support they need to make sure their aspirations become their realities. At Dance In Color, we want to insure that students are exposed to dance teachers and choreographers from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds. We want to hold performing art studios accountable. And we dream to one day expand the change beyond dance to other forms of performing arts to create lasting change throughout the entire industry.
