WCSMA's purposes are: to foster and encourage the improvement of music programs in the schools of Westchester County, NY; to organize and sponsor music festivals for elementary, middle and high school students; to inform students, parents, school administrators and community members about music programs; to offer scholarships to outstanding music students for summer music study; to encourage boards of education, administrators, parents and the general public to realize and appreciate the needs of those concerned with and involved in school music programs; and to offer professional development opportunities to music teachers.

There are many people to thank for their incredible work for music education this year in Westchester County even though we are barely into 2025. I want to highlight Kim Dunkin and Matt Royal who were present in Albany this past Monday to advocate for music education with New York State Senators and Assemblymembers who represent Westchester County.
