Last week, in collaboration with the Division of Community Health Services, we convened a two-day co-design workshop focused on integrating PROMPTS-our SMS-based maternal and newborn health platform-into The Ministry of Health’s eCHIS system. The aim is to leverage community health services to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes by strengthening data sharing, enabling real-time communication, addressing the first delay in seeking care, and supporting more efficient client follow-up. The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders who worked collaboratively to identify integration opportunities and map out how users would interact with the integrated system. Sessions included live platform demos, open discussions, and presentations that focused on real-life stories to show how the integration could support mothers and their babies, community health promoters and other stakeholders within the wider health systems. We are grateful to The Ministry of Health Kenya, and all partners for their strong support and participation.
