HELPING HANDS FOR SINGLE MOMS
A community-based nonprofit that assists low-income single mom families while the moms are pursuing a college education and financial independence. THE HELPING HANDS FOR SINGLE MOMS PROGRAM ASSISTS LOW-INCOME SINGLE MOM FAMILIES WHILE THE MOTHER PURSUES A COLLEGE EDUCATION AND FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE. TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF THE SINGLE MOM COLLEGE STUDENT FAMILY, HELPING HANDS PROVIDES A $3,000 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP THAT IS LEVERAGED BY IN-KIND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROVIDED BY 59 COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE AUTO REPAIR, DENTAL AND MEDICAL CARE, PROFESSIONAL AND LEGAL COUNSELING SERVICES, COMPUTER TECH ASSISTANCE.
