The Russian Orthodox Mission to Hawaii was established in 1916 by the Martyred-Archpriest Jacob Korchinsky. After many years of shipping and flying various priests to the Hawaiian Islands, a parish was established in Honolulu, in the 1970's dedicated to Saint Mark of Ephesus. In 1984, the Saint Mark of Ephesus Russian Orthodox Mission Parish was re-established under the heavenly protection of the Mother of God and renamed the Holy Theotokos of Iveron Russian Orthodox Church. This multi-ethnic parish is home to two Miracleworking Icons; the Wonderworking Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, and the Myrrh-streaming Holy Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
