The Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Council (GCRAC) is designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to develop, implement and maintain the regional trauma and emergency healthcare system for the 6 counties in Trauma Service Area S. THIS ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED AND MAINTAINS THE MEDICAL TRAUMA EMERGENCY MEDICAL PLAN FOR A LARGE AREA OF SOUTH TEXAS. THE ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED UNDER THE AUSPICIOUS OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.

The Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Council GCRAC is comprised of representatives from EMS services Hospitals and other large stakeholders in DeWitt Calhoun Victoria Goliad Lavaca and Jackson counties. The mission of the council is to facilitate the development implementation and operation of a comprehensive regional emergency health system based on accepted standards of care in a collaborative effort to decrease morbidity and mortality. Through public and professional education injury prevention and performance improvement efforts GCRAC is making the Golden Crescent a safer place to work play and visit.
