Vanport Placemarking Project
To bring public awareness to a historic site that was home to Indigenouse people for thousands of years and to residents of Vanport who came to work in the Kaiser shipyards building Liberty Ships during WWII. Vanport was destroyed in the Columbia River flood of 1948. There has been little recognition of these underreprented communities for 72 years. Our project is creating historic markers, creative artwork, an augmented reality app, and audio boxes to recognize their history and heritage
