Aero Association of Caltech Teaching Techers to fly since 1966 The CaltechJPL Flying Club Assuming the certainty that some Caltech students are going to fly someplace somehow our purposeis to provide the opportunity to fly more safely to use better equipment to give serious and detailedflight training and to provide more available flying time for less money. Dave Cartwright 1966 graduate student in chemical physics and first president of AACIT The Aero Association of Caltech informally known as the CaltechJPL Flying Club was establishedin 1966 incorporated as a nonprofit organization. It has grown from 18 Caltech members and a single Cessna 150 to the current fleet of 8 airplanes and approximately 180 members. The majority of our members come from the CaltechJPL community.
