Marvin's Home provides and installs upcycled furnishings and accessories that convert empty spaces into welcoming homes for those in need. Marvin's Home is a nonprofit that creates homes for youth and young adults who have been homeless or have aged out of the foster care system. Founder Mel McDaniel began Marvin's Home as a way to address the need for waste reduction in interior design practices. During the redecoration process, it is common for clients to discard their pre-loved furniture along with new items that may have arrived slightly damaged or in the wrong color or configuration. Mel’s philosophy has always been to “gather where there is plenty and give where there is none” — and so was the beginning of Marvin's Home.
