Peaceable Projects upholds the centuries-old values of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage by providing emergency staffing, financial, and in-kind support to non-profit pilgrim shelters in Spain, France, and Portugal. We identify legitimate emergency needs via "on the ground" knowledge, as our president lives and works on the Camino trail. We oversee an annual 100 kilometer camino cleanup program every November; We help outfit and launch new albergue shelters, recruit and train volunteer hosts, house volunteers between assignments, and provide on-the-spot help of many kinds to those in unexpected needs: a meal, a bed, a bus ticket, tires for the car. We are small and flexible and hope to stay that way, to better meet needs as they arise.
