Overview

The Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer-managed, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California. The Auxiliary serves the communities of Oceanside, Vista, and Carlsbad, promoting healthcare and well-being since its inception in 1958.

History

Founded by a group of four doctor’s wives in 1958, the Auxiliary has grown significantly over the years. Today, it comprises nearly 500 volunteers ranging in age from 15 to 95. These volunteers contribute a substantial number of hours annually, working in more than 20 departments at Tri-City Medical Center.

Mission

The mission of the Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary is to render service to Tri-City Medical Center, its patients, and staff, while assisting the Medical Center in promoting the health and well-being of the community.

Activities

The Auxiliary operates a non-profit gift shop and organizes various fundraising events. These efforts enable the organization to make significant financial contributions to Tri-City Medical Center. For example, in 2019, the Auxiliary donated over $70,000 for equipment at the Emergency Room, Operating Theater, and Intensive Care Unit.

Scholarship Program

The Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship program was established in 1973. It provides financial support to individuals pursuing health-related careers at local colleges and universities. Over its history, the program has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships.
