St. Marks Refuge Association, Inc.
The Friends of St. Marks Wildlife Refuge is a 501.c.3 non-profit charitable organization established in 1987 that supports the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge in all aspects of its mission, which include promoting the understanding, conservation and appreciation of the Refuge wildlife, environment, cultural, and historical resources. It operates under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which is available in hard copy. The By-laws are registered and available online a the website www.stmarksrefuge.org. An Annual Budget is established and reviewed monthly at Board meetings. Accounting practices are overseen by an outside accountant (Carroll and Company, CPA). An Endowment was established in 2012.
