Sunrise Cafe New Haven’s mission is to treat guests with care and dignity, serving nutritious meals with compassion, love, and respect. We offer a welcoming place to start the day with a free breakfast 5 days a week to those in need in New Haven, CT. We serve an estimated 35,000 meals annually. Guests select from a menu that includes at least one hot item, place their orders, and are then served restaurant-style at their table. Together, our guests and volunteers form a community where all can feel safe, valued, and supported. As our co-founder Ellen Gabrielle described it "we are about so much more than breakfast." Through partnerships, guests have access to clinical services, housing assistance, clothing, reading material, and connections to employment and substance abuse programs.
