The tournament was founded by Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew and Congressman Ralph Harding in memory of the Minnesota Twins shortstop Danny Thompson who died of leukemia at the young age of 29. Through their hard work and the dedication of their supporters the KTM is now considered one of the leading cancer research fundraisers of its kind. Donor Impact Events The KillebrewThompson Memorial raises money for cancer research through annual fundraising events.
