The Brown Egg – A Holistic Ne(s)twork of Care
The Brown Egg's mission is to disrupt and illuminate the inequity in maternal mortality rates among African American women through action, awareness, and advocacy. Black women are three times more likely than White women to die during and after pregnancy. The Brown Egg addresses this disparity by providing a (whole)listic eco-system that empowers and protects the mother and the valuable brown egg she carries. By delivering accessible BIPOC-centered education, mothers, and mothers-to-be are equipped to pursue a safe and affirming maternity experience, nurtured by a nest where all brown eggs can safely develop and hatch. The Brown Egg exists to disrupt and illuminate the inequity in maternal mortality rates among African American women through action, awareness, and advocacy.
Our vision is a world where the (whole)listic experience of Black women’s maternal health is safe, empowered, and inclusive.
