Paani is a volunteer-run nonprofit creating sustainable solutions to transparently supply clean water and foster empowerment across South Asia. Founded in 2017, Paani works with community partners and institutions in the US & Pakistan to drive sustainable, evidence-based interventions to improve access to clean water, advocate for gender equity, & address health disparities. Our mission is to provide temporary relief where we can and work toward building permanent solutions to the most complex problems that countries like Pakistan are facing. We strive to combine evidence-based initiatives with cultural competency to ensure that community members feel comfortable and empowered in our presence.

The Diana Award hosted Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and our founder Sonny Khan on stage this week to highlight the power of investing in young people. The panel showcased how supporting youth from challenging backgrounds leads to transformative community impact - a journey reflected in Paani’s growth from a campus initiative to providing clean water for over 1 million people in Pakistan’s rural communities. We are proud to demonstrate what’s possible when young people receive the advocacy and support they need to create global change.
