Today community members assembled at Centenary College to learn the steps the city is taking to develop a concrete plan for Phase One of the Kings Highway revitalization project. In December, the city took the feedback that was gathered from almost a year of planning by community members and today they showed their drawings which almost perfectly match the drawings that the community provided. The city also described concrete steps toward implementing initial changes to the area this year followed by more robust upgrades pending additional funding from the state or other sources.

What a cool event that happened in downtown Shreveport this weekend. The Louisiana Avenue/Texas Street area could have an event here every weekend - our public spaces are activated so beautifully by events like this with buildings framing the stage for our shared culture. Congrats to Designer Tasha VR and her team and collaborators like The Social Circle on a great event.
