The dangerous impasse surrounding the stalled implementation of the CoHA, coupled with the escalating tensions between the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments, demands immediate attention. These developments directly threaten to reignite a far deadlier conflict, with the horrifying potential of turning war-torn Tigray into a devastating battleground once more. The consequences are catastrophic to contemplate given that the region continues to grapple with a severe humanitarian crisis, leaving millions of IDPs and refugees in abject squalor. Alarming reports indicate a rapidly escalating death toll within IDP camps due to critical supply shortages. The prospects for both short and long-term relief are vanishing rapidly due to a clear lack of political will and the looming threat of renewed conflict.
