Hutchinson Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization

To support and enhance the educational experience of Hutchinson's 300+ students by fostering a strong partnership among parents, staff, and the community. This includes 1) ORGANIZING EVENTS to build community (spring fling, family fun night, literacy nights, etc); 2) COORDINATING VOLUNTEERS to support our 14 classrooms, library/STEAM, art, music, PE teachers, environmental club, field trips, etc; 3) ADVOCATING for students' needs and providing a platform for parents to engage with school activities and decisions (9 meetings/year, open to all parents/staff); 4) FUNDRAISING through our fun run, 9 restaurant nights/year, and shopping rewards programs. Funds support community events, building improvements, guest speakers, educational resources, such as technology, books, STEAM materials, classroom supplies, playground improvements, etc. There was an emphasis on fundraising this year for a digital marquee, shade structure, murals, and fridge for staff lounge, all to be purchased in 2023-24.
