This April, Little Light House had the honor of welcoming visitors from Mwanza, Tanzania! Representing Mwanza’s city council and investment leaders, this team traveled to Tulsa as part of the city’s newest Sister City initiative, led by Tulsa Global Alliance! While in Tulsa, the team toured our building, observed our transdisciplinary team in action, and learned about Little Light House's various training opportunities available for people around the world. Their trip concluded at City Hall, where they officially signed on as Tulsa’s 9th Sister City (and the first in Africa!) This visit followed Little Light House’s trip to Mwanza in Summer 2024, where members of the LLH Outreach team joined other Tulsa representatives for a learning exchange focused on business, education, inclusion, and public services. During that trip, we connected with several local organizations already serving children with disabilities, as well as those eager to begin the initiative. We remain in touch with these groups and look forward to continuing to train, equip, learn from, and support them as they serve children with disabilities in their cultural context.
