“The practice of love is the most powerful antidote to the politics of domination.” -bell hooks 🕯️ Call for Artists 🕯️ Día de Los Muertos 2025: We Love You Curated by Rio Yañez and Bridgett Rex Submit by May 29, 2025, 11:59 PM PST ✨Curatorial Statement Grounded in love, care, solidarity, and a commitment to liberation, “Día de Los Muertos 2025: We Love You” invites self-identified Women, Trans, and Gender Nonconforming artists, including lead artists in group/collective projects, to submit to this year’s exhibition. The curators seek to create a safe and welcoming space where creating altars in the Mexican tradition, or as conceptual art, serves as an outlet and response to the challenges posed by the Trump administration. Submissions can be large or small, so feel free to take up space! This call is meant to be an offering to let your “heart work” as it needs to right now.
