Break the Barriers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, celebrates the awareness and victories of individuals of varying abilities, ethnicities, ages, and socioeconomic statuses through exceptional programs, outreach, and inclusive education. Established in 1984, our mission is to serve both local and global communities in order for individuals to achieve optimal physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Break the Barriers strives to improve participants quality of life by helping individuals develop their full potential as well as overcome impeding physical and mental confinements.Locally, Break the Barriers primarily serves our community through our 39,000 square-foot Ability Center, which acts as the backdrop for our 23 inclusive programs. Over 2,000 individuals enter through our facilitys doors on a weekly basis, including Buddy students from Valley Schools, inner-city youth and a growing population of Veterans.
