Yahoo, what a morning here on HB when Nest 5 was discovered literally "in progress" and here it is all to enjoy. Today's Morning Rider Janet happened upon this nesting mama on her sunrise tour of the beach. Our trusty Stranding Team on duty was then summoned and arrived on scene in time to view her dropping her eggs and ensure that those present kept a safe distance from our girl. Shot 1 captures her return to the ocean post nesting. Shot 2 is a zoomed in view of her eggs actually dropping into the nest! Amazing to witness this during the daylight hours as loggerheads usually lay overnight.
