On April 26th, 2025, the Mandan community experienced a profound loss. 🕊️💔 We unexpectedly lost our dear Amanda. People often say that certain individuals brighten up a room, but Mandy was the embodiment of that sentiment. Her radiant smile, contagious laughter, and distinct raspy voice never failed to uplift those around her. I can still hear her cheerful greeting, “Heyyyy girl!” 🫶🏼 Having known Mandy for many years, she served as my “hairapist” during many of those moments. I always looked forward to our encounters, whether it was out in public or while seated in her salon chair. We shared numerous interests, but the one that resonated most deeply was our mutual love for animals. Moosie was her everything, and when Moosie passed, River became her new joy. Our conversations filled my heart with warmth, knowing there were others who cherished animals (especially dogs) just like I do. We would bond over our laughter and tears as we discussed pet owners, often sharing our frustrations about irresponsible backyard breeders or people who don’t leash their dogs. I admired her commitment to helping shelters or strays, even during vacations, and I can only picture her pondering, “Should I try to bring this dog on the flight with me?”😂❤️ Mandy always ensured I left her chair feeling beautiful, regardless of whether I mentioned I was just heading home to care for puppies (which was almost every time!). She wouldn’t let me walk out without styled hair, whether it was straight or full of gorgeous curls (despite my usual preference for a casual wave or a simple ponytail!). 🤪 The impact of Mandy's passing has resonated deeply within our community, and in her honor, her family requested donations to three nonprofit organizations, one of which we were privileged to be a part of. We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed in her memory. She would undoubtedly be SO proud! 🥲 We miss you so much, Mandy, more than words can express. Name: Edward 🧡 Breed: Mystery Mix of 100% Good boy! He's only 12lbs and will most likely stay very small Age: Approximately 3 months Health: Neutered and has had two rounds of vac 💉🩺✂️ Social Life: Edward is living with dogs and cats in his foster home. He LOVES other dogs and definitely needs a doggy partner-in-crime to wrestle, chase, and occasionally snuggle with. Cats? He’s still figuring them out. Sometimes he mistakes them for moving toys, but he’s learning that they do not appreciate surprise hugs. 🐶🐱 Hobbies: Zoomies, chewing acceptable items (and sometimes questionable ones), and dramatic flops on cool floors. 🏎️ 😴 🧸 🦴 Kennel Status: Pro-level. Edward’s crate is his chill zone, and he settles in like a champ. Looking For: A home with a fun-loving dog buddy, humans who have patience to work with him on potty training as he has made such great progress.
