THE CONTRIBUTION OF SKILLED NURSING HOME SERVICES TO CARE FOR AND MINISTER TO THE NEEDS, RELIEF, HARDSHIP & DISTRESS OF AGED PERSONS.San Juan Nursing Home provides transitional, short-term, and long-term skilled nursing care. Following the physician's recommendation, San Juan Nursing Home provides a comprehensive plan of care that meets and/or exceeds the needs of the residents. Services and programs offered include: 24hr Skilled Nursing Care, Rehabilitation Services, Restorative Therapy, Recreational & Social Activities Social Services, Family Support Group, Resident Support Group, Dietary Services, Religious/Pastoral Services, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, Respite Care, Radiology, Dental Care, Mental Health Services, Podiatry Services, Palliative and Hospice Care.San Juan Nursing Home has been providing “Service with Love" for 50 and has done so as a Not for Profit facility and has its proper designation as a 501(c)3. We count on over 150 employees and over 100 volunteers. We serve the four counties of the Lower Rio Grande Valley to include, but not limited to Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy and Cameron and do so with 122 bed capacity. The profile for the facility is equal part Men and Women with a median age of 70 years old. Our facility accepts patients from the age of 22 to as long as God gives them and is only limited to the guidelines that are set out by CMS on the needs for illness and care.San Juan Nursing home is proud of the 50 years of service they have given and look forward to another 50 years. With the growing concern of the limits of Medicare and Medicaid and the government's ability to pay for these services, the San Juan Nursing home, is blessed to be a non-profit organization and can rely on the communities generosity to continue to provide for those who may not or do not qualify for state services under the CMS guidelines. As with all non-profits in the area, our major challenge is the ability to raise the funds necessary to continue to provide the services we are most proud of. As always, retaining and acquiring highly educated and well performed individuals continues to plague organizations such as ours, and will continue to do so as the nursing filed becomes more and more requested.
